Its international airport is a gateway for Alaska Airlines, Continental, Frontier, Aeromexico, Mexicana and Aerocalifornia. Highway 15 is a 4 lane toll-road that stretches 775 miles to the Arizona border, making Mazatlan as easily accessible by land as by air or sea.

Golf and fishing tournaments, as well as various cultural events complete the calendar year. The city now hosts a marathon in December, as well as a triathlon and mountain bike competitions.
